The good news is that Excel actually allows you use an external XML file as a schema for mapping data from a spreadsheet. So, our plan was to use that XML file as a template for converting our existing data into the correct structure. Illustrator has it's own XML format that it requires for linking any data up with a graph. The library is exported as a data format known as XML. Then we clicked the Capture Data Set button (camera icon) in the Variable palette and chose Save Variable Library from the Variable palette dropdown menu. The groups of ovals to the left for some reason are different - I have to delete them through cutted up sections of strokes and fill paths, which can practically take forever. All the other ovals to the right can all be individually selected, and deleted with just one click.

This problem only seems to exist in the group of ovals of the first screenshot I posted in this thread. I'm not sure how it became like that at all. It's just like the same problem with the strokes. I'm not sure if you can see it, but to the right of the highlighted selection I clicked on, there exists some grey 'cracked lines' that almost looks like they've been cutted up with a knife or something. I'm not sure how that happened, but it seems like that problem exists in the 'fill sections' also. There's probably another odd thing you could catch from this screenshot that I just noticed as well after zooming in - for some reason, some small sections of the strokes looks like they're 'cracked' or have been cutted up somehow. I even tried something else - selecting a stroke with the White Arrow then switching to the Black Arrow to delete it. I selected a stroke using the White Arrow, but it only deleted a partial of the complete stroke. Also, the reason why only partial strokes are deleted is because using the White Arrow only allows me to delete anchor points instead of a complete stroke. But I'm guessing I selected just the stroke of the oval instead of the actual fill path, so it only deleted the strokes and left the fill path alone. The reason why some strokes are missing is because I used the White Arrow to delete some ovals. Right, and that's another problem I'm having.
